Chapter 3 Explanation Text (Part 2)

How are you today? I hope you are stay healthy and happy. Here i will explain about explanation text part 2

D. Generic Structure Explanation Text :

 • Introduction: Contains an opening statement and usually there is also a definition of what will be discussed in the text.

 • Explanation sequences : An explanation/content of the discussion of the text. Usually it is broken down into several paragraph sequentially.

 • Conclusion: The final part of the Explanation Text contains a conclusion from the discussion as the closing text.

 E. Language Feature Explanation Text :

 • Using the present tense, because the explanation text discusses a fact.

 • Using complex noun groups, it aims to build detailed descriptions for example, 'Threatening', 'Rampaging' or 'Enormous' and many more.

 • Using abstract nouns such as 'heat', 'earthquakes', 'floods', and others.

 • Use sentences with clear subjects and use the verb agreement.

 • Using action verbs to explain the cause of the phenomenon under discussion such as 'from' or 'started from'.

 • Use an adverbial phrase from a time and place to tell when and where the incident took place. For example. ‘Its is to be found in Sulawesi, Indonesia’.

 • Use conjunctions to link time sequences in causal order. For example 'after', 'finally', 'so', 'then' and others.

 • Using passive voice which is useful for emphasizing the focus of events that are taking place.

 • Using time conjunctions, for example, 'when', 'as'. This time conjunction is to order and connect events so that the written text is more fluid. This time conjunction can be placed first in a

 sentence to focus the reader's attention.

 • Use technical terms or word chains about the subject.

My Explanation Text

How is Snow Made?

We all agree that the snowfall is always fascinating. In the snowfall, all people stay out of the house and play with the snow. People can make giant snowmen, trample along the snow, or play with snowballs with their families. However, are you curious about how snow is made?

Snow is water droplets falling from the clouds. These droplet waters then become solid and create snow. It happens because rain consists of water vapor particles being cooled in the air.

Snow happens when water vapor piled up in the earth’s atmosphere freezes. It happens before they turn into water droplets. This process occurs when the temperature in the cloud becomes very frigid.

Snowflakes are created by crystals of ice that have established around a little filth in the air. They then grow from small forms into big one. The form of snowflakes is varied. They can consist of 200 crystals maximum.
